6/3/11 Weekly Update
After the hectic week last week, I've decided this Sunday is Laughter Sunday. Please come with a funny joke or story to share, and some laughter in your heart. We'll sing funny songs, and just enjoy the goodness of being together in all kinds of weather.
Here's a message from our President, John Miller . . .
"I just came from the church and the roofers were on lunch break. They should be through with the roof covering the sanctuary by 4:30 tonight. They have yet to cover the towers and Hawkeye Sheet Metal has to finish the steel caps BUT our roof won't leak if it rains. I will be going back this afternoon again to check while they are working.
Service Master has removed the fans and dehumidifiers claiming everything dry according to their hygrometers. I will be talking to Joe Paxon regarding the settlement for stains and damages to the carpet and woodwork. There should be some settlement but I am not sure how much yet. Floor Decor has the measurements for the sanctuary but I told Mark that we would let him know if we wanted him to do more. He said he has trucks delivering to his store 3 days/week and if the carpet is in stock it can be here in short order."
I should also mention that John has been busy and dropped by CFU to ask about a rebate for insulation. That should amount to $730. He was given, and will bring on Sunday, a picture of heat loss from CFU's heatloss flyover in November.
He is planning on holding an informational session for anyone who has questions about the whole roof/leak situation immediately following the service.
See you in church!
~Eva
Sunday 6/5/11
9:30 am Sunday Service: "Laughter Sunday"
Rev. Eva Cameron & Maureen Murphy as Worship Associate
Please come with your favorite jokes, funny stories and songs to make us fill the room with laughter. Laughter is a good medicine. Tim has some funny songs for us! This is a great way to share a bit of your own self with the congregation without having to work too hard!
10:30 am Fellowship Time
10:45 am Information Session regarding Roof Leak with Pres. John Miller
2:30 pm Sunday Afternoon small group
Calendar Updates for this Coming Week
Pastoral Update
I have heard from Brian Forster out at Friendship Village, that Don Wendt is not doing well at all. He is in the Nursing Care section, and Dorothy is able to visit most days. I'm sure she would appreciate cards. And if knew Don, you might want to drop by for a brief visit and good-bye.
