Weekly Update

4/23/10 Weekly Update

Greetings from Davenport, where UUs from across the District are gathering to attend our Annual Meeting.

Our own local Annual meeting is NEXT WEEK! So don't forget to be reading the copy of the bylaws before the Annual meeting so that you are ready to vote on something you are familiar with. They are posted on our website and came in your mail. Also there have been a number of suggested Amendments to these new Bylaws by church members. Please read over their amendments, and choose which ones you like. They overlap in content, and contradict each other, so we can't accept all of them. There are a lot of them, so may I remind you that according to the meeting rules, it will take a 'second' from the floor to allow discussion on an item. They come moved from the person who submitted them. Remember, please plan on attending the Annual Meeting, May 2 right after the service!

Budget Update-special appeal

You should have gotten a note from the Board about this. We will have a very bare-bones budget this year, but ask as you come to church on Sunday, you come prepared to help just a bit more if at all possible.

Pastoral Update

Dorothy Wendt has moved into Lakeview Lodge building of Friendship Village. This is the building Don has been living in for the past several months. They will need to be organizing themselves for moving out of their apartment. So if anyone is feeling up to helping, please let Donna Kroeger know. She has agreed to help coordinate that move. donnakro@cfu.net
